Public means accessible, not free to reuse

Only download media you own, have permission to save, or may otherwise use lawfully. A public post can still be protected by copyright, privacy, publicity, and platform terms.

Questions before you save

Can PostTote open private or followers-only posts?

No. It does not sign in, use account cookies, or bypass privacy and access controls. Only anonymously accessible public posts are supported.

Does every public post have a downloadable file?

No. Text-only posts have no media, and deleted, restricted, expiring, or temporarily unavailable media may not be returned.

Will I always get HD video?

No quality label is invented. PostTote shows the progressive file actually available for that post and reports known dimensions when the source provides them.

How are carousel posts handled?

Each available video or photo gets its own numbered card in source order. PostTote does not create a ZIP or trigger many downloads at once.

Where does a file go on my phone?

Your browser decides. Android browsers commonly use Downloads. Safari on iPhone or iPad may place the file in Files, where you can use Share to save supported media to Photos.

Why do I need to check the post again?

Media and signed save links expire. Rechecking the original public post creates current links without storing your account credentials.

Is PostTote part of Threads or Meta?

No. PostTote is an independent tool. Threads and Meta names are used only to identify the supported service, and their trademarks belong to their owners.
